The product is a battery-operated chainsaw that comes with either a 12" or 14" bar, which is intended for use with Milwaukee's M18 batteries. Both models have three matte black blades, a frosted, cased white glass bowl light and a 3-speed reversible motor with remote control. The recalled Honeywell Rio Ceiling Fans have an oil rubbed bronze housing finish (model number 50514), a champagne housing finish (model number 51623), a pewter housing finish (model number 51624), a brushed nickel housing finish (model number 50195), or a white housing finish (model number 51030). October 10, 1995 Release # 96-002 WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation of Brookfield, Wis., is recalling approximately 9,300 sander/grinders. A switch on the tools may stick "on" or may "turn on" with minima trigger pressure, which could subject the tool operator to injury.Milwaukee 4-1/2" Mag series sander/grinders with nameplate catalog numbers 6148 or 6151, and packaging catalog numbers 6148-6, 6149-6, and 6151 are included in this recall. The nameplate catalog number is found on the label located on top of the sander/grinder, and the packaging label is found on the side of the box the tool is purchased in. Milwaukee Electric has not received any reports of injury involving the sander/grinders.The sander/grinders were sold from July 1, 1995 to September 30, 1995 for about $120 each through construction and industrial distributors, home centers, and hardware stores nationwide.Consumers who own a recalled sander/grinder should return it for a replacement to the place of purchase, or to Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation at 8950 Hacks Cross Road, Olive Branch, Miss. 38654, or to the nearest Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center. (August 21)--Citing the potential for severe electric shock hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission today warned consumers to immediately unplug and then disconnect the "Little Wonder TV Antenna." The product --manufactured by the A.K. Electric Corporation, Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Jack Arthur Meltzer President-- connects television antenna leads directly to home electrical outlets. CPSC Chairman Richard 0. Simpson said the product "contains no safety device" to prevent electrical shock and possible electrocution. He said the Commission is taking all necessary steps to remove the product from the marketplace. Simpson said the item has been distributed nationwide by Windsor House, Island Park, New York, and Sunset House, Los Angeles, California, two mail-order firms. In addition to the CPSC action, Simpson said he is referring the matter to the Federal Trade Commission for their follow-up on the basis of what he termed "misleading and possibly fraudulent advertising" associated with distribution of the product. While there are several similar products on the market, the CPSC action was limited to the "Little Wonder TV Antenna," pending further study of the others. Simpson said the "Little Wonder" appears to contain but does not contain any safety devices, found in the other similar products, which would greatly reduce the potential for electric shock. The "Little Wonder" has an identifying label only on the package but not on the product itself. The other similar products generally bear the manufacturer's name or brand name on the devices. In making the announcement, Simpson criticized Windsor House and Sunset House for "failing to verify the safety" of a product they were advertising for sale to millions of consumers. And he said they have a responsibility in that regard. Simpson said he was "totally dismayed" by the clear lack of engineering design demonstrated by the "Little Wonder TV Antenna." The product, he said, is imminently hazardous.
