Ritchey Bicycle Wheels (Ritchey Design) – Rear Wheel Issue (2005)

The above wheels were sold by Ritchey as wheel sets and as rear wheel only and as original equipment on 2004 model year Fuji and Motobecane USA bicycles and the 2005 model year Prestige road bike from Raleigh. The recalled wheels have high flange hubs measuring 60 milimeters in diameter and the hub body is straight between the flanges.

Tiki Cone Metal Torch – Fire Safety Risk (2005)

The recalled Tiki® Cone Metal Torch is a 6-foot-long outdoor open-flame lamp consisting of a black metal pole topped by a copper-colored, cone-shaped metal head. A black decorative rod spirals around the head of the torch. The torch head includes the fuel reservoir, cover and wick. It was sold under Lamplight Farms model numbers 1263 and 126301 and Wal-Mart item numbers 1656121 and 1691366. Both items were sold with the same UPC number 086861012635, which is located on the bottom of the printed hangtag.

10,000 Lux Light Box (OTT-LITE) – Safety Concern (2004)

The recalled "10,000 Lux Light Box" produces light to simulate natural sunlight. The units, which are white with a translucent hinged door, measure 24 inches high, 12 ½ inches wide, and 3 ¾ inches deep. Some of the recalled light boxes may have a small label on the top of the unit with the name "Nu-Yu Light." Only the "10,000 Lux Light Box" sold by Natural Options is recalled.

Wheelbarrows (Ames) – Wheel Assembly Defect (2004)

The wheel assemblies on these wheelbarrows have a black plastic rim and have an approximately 14-inch diameter wheel. They have red, green, or orange tubs or trays made of steel or plastic and were sold under the brand names "Easy Roller," "Homeowner," "Mustang," or "Thoroughbred." The brand name was printed on the label attached to the tray at the time of purchase. Wheelbarrows with metal wheel assemblies are not part of this recall. No "True Temper" or "Jackson" wheelbarrow is part of this recall. In addition to the free replacement wheel assembly and free gardening tool incentive, the company is conducting the recall campaign with new measures to reach home gardeners who are the primary users of these recalled wheelbarrows. These new measures include placing ads in gardening publications, providing recall information to editors and webmasters of specialty gardening magazines and websites, and providing new point-of-sale posters to retailers.

Fobus GLT Gun Holsters (First Samco) – Design Malfunction (2004)

The gun holsters are designed to hold a Series 17 and Series 19 Glock handgun fitted with a laser-sight light. "GL 2*EMZ" is engraved in the top of the gun holster and "FOBUS" and "MADE IN ISRAEL" is printed on the back of the gun holster. This recall involves two early versions of the Fobus GLT gun holsters, one with a plastic retention strap less than one inch wide and one with a leather retention strap less than one inch wide. The new design includes a strap that is more than one inch wide, with a plastic tip too wide to be caught inside the trigger guard.

Lamaze Activity Toys – choking hazard (2003)

There are two types of activity toys involved in this recall. One toy is a flower shaped toy intended to attach to a stroller, with a green painted metal wire on which plastic beads slide along. The item is the Lamaze Flower Stroller Wrap (SKU #97222). The other toy is a floor-based toy with a foam stuffed base, a blue painted metal wire on which plastic beads and stuffed animal heads slide along. This item is the Lamaze Soft Bead Buddies (SKU #97325). Each item has a sewn-in label with the Lamaze logo on the front.

Announce Recall of Children's Toy Toolboxes WASHINGTON, D.C.- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Racing Champions Ertl Inc. (RCE), of Dyersville, Iowa, is voluntarily recalling about 11,600 John Deere Kids Toolboxes. The toy's carrying handle can break, creating small parts and a sharp plastic edge that pose a choking and laceration hazard to young children. CPSC and RCE have not received any reports of injuries. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. The children's toolbox is a soft-shelled, plastic, green box with a yellow handle and yellow raised letters that read "John Deere." A John Deere Kids logo with a fawn inside a red oval is imprinted on the front of the toolbox. The toolbox is sold with a green and yellow plastic ratchet wrench and pliers inside. Stamped on the bottom of the product is "JOHN DEERE LICENSED PRODUCT" and "MADE IN CHINA." All yellow-handled toolboxes are included in this recall. John Deere dealers and other farm supply retail stores nationwide sold the toys from June 2001 through September 2001 for about $13. Parents and caregivers should take the toy away from young children immediately and contact RCE at (866) 898-4999 anytime for instructions on returning these toys and receiving a free replacement toolbox. John Deere Toolboxes with green handles are not included in this recall

Portable Flood Light (Gampak Products) – Safety Concern (1993)

MARCH 4, 1993 Release # 93-051 PRODUCT: Gampak Products portable outdoor flood light, model number 15836. The gray, die-cast flood light comes with a connecting six-foot extension cord. PROBLEM: The connecting extension cord is defective, presenting a potential electric shock or fire hazard. WHAT TO DO: Consumers should immediately return the affected flood lights to the stores where they were purchased for a replacement. Consumers with questions can call the manufacturer toll-free at 1-800-843-7488. WASHINGTON, DC -- CPSC, Gampak Products, Hillside, NJ, is voluntarily recalling model number 15836 gray, die-cast portable outdoor flood light with a connecting six-foot extension cord. The extension cord is defective, presenting a potential electric shock or fire hazard. The Gampak name appears on the packaging and on the side of the flood light. Gampak received one report of the cord melting when a consumer plugged the cord into an outlet. No injuries and no other incidents have been reported. This action is being taken to prevent the possibility of injury. The portable outdoor flood lights were sold in major retail stores nationwide from October 1992 to December 1992. Approximately 2,200 lights are estimated to be in use by consumers. Consumers should immediately stop using the affected flood lights and return them to the stores where they were purchased. Consumers will be provided a replacement, with a redesigned cord, free of charge. Consumers who need more information can call the manufacturer toll-free at 1-800-843-7488. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is announcing this recall as a part of its mission to protect the public from unreasonable risks of injury and death associated with consumer products. The Commission's objective is to reduce the estimated 28.6 million injuries and 21,700 deaths associated each year with the 15,000 different types of consumer products under CPSC's jurisdiction

Campari Butane Cigarette Lighters Warning NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 20, 1987 Release # 87-062 CPSC Warns of Potentially Hazardous Disposable Butane Cigarette Lighters WASHINGTON, DC -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Campari USA, Inc., New York, New York, today announced a program to alert consumers to the potential hazards of certain disposable butane cigarette lighters. The lighters in question are labeled "Campari, the smart mixable" on one side of the lighter body and on the other side will say, "Campari, Soda, the classic" or "Campari Grapefruit Juice, the exotic." These lighters were imported beginning in July of 1983 by Campari USA to be used as promotional items and were given to consumers free through liquor sales outlets. Certain of these lighters can shoot up excessively high flames or spew butane without lighting or before lighting. There have been no injuries reported involving these lighters. Since a consumer cannot readily differentiate between lighters which may exhibit the problem and those which do not, the firm is urging consumers who may still have these lighters in their possession to carefully dispose of them. In disposing of the lighters, consumers are warned to do so in such a way that children will not have access to the discarded lighters. The problem with these lighters was first brought to the Commission's attention by the Dade County Florida Fire Department when they received a box of these lighters from an anonymous source. The fire department forwarded the lighters to the Commission. No fires have been reported related to these lighters. Champ Lawn Mowers Recalled by Brister's Thunder Karts NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 20, 1987 Release # 87-029 BRISTER'S THUNDER KART LAWN MOWERS RECALLED WASHINGTON, DC -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Brister's Thunder Karts, Inc., Roseland, Louisiana, announced today that it is recalling its High Wheel "Champ" walk-behind power lawn mowers because they do not comply with federal safety standards in effect since 1982. The lawn mowers fail to meet the 3-second blade stopping time requirement and do not have a protective foot shield to prevent contact with the rotating mower blade. The recall covers only those lawn mowers which were purchased by consumers for their personal use and does not include lawn mowers which are intended for industrial/commercial/professional uses. The lawn mowers, which are called "high wheelers" because the rear wheels on the mowers are larger than the front wheels, are available in two models: model B-21, with a 2l-inch cutting blade and a 4 horsepower motor; and model B-24, with a 24-inch cutting blade and a 5 horsepower motor, available in both push type and self-propelled. The suggested retail price ranges from $319.00 to $599.00 each. Approximately 1200 units have been sold to retailers located in Mississippi and Louisiana. While neither the Consumer Product Safety Commission nor Brister's Thunder Karts knows of any injuries involving these lawn mowers, they present a risk of serious injuries to hands and feet as a result of contact with the rotating lawn mower blade. Consumers who purchased the mowers from 1982 through 1986 are urged to bring the mowers back to the retailer where purchased so that they may be modified to comply with the safety standard at no cost.
