The Zowie's 123 book is a twelve page white board book that measures 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches, with a yellow plastic abacus-like toy attached to the back book cover. The abacus toy has five small beads: blue, green, red, yellow and orange. The beads slide along a plastic track. The book is based on the Rolie, Polie, Olie television series and depicts the Zowie character on its cover. The book can be identified with the ISBN code number 078683307-6, found on the back cover in the bottom corner.

Fabric used in these costumes can ignite readily and presents a serious risk of burn injuries in violation of the Federal Flammable Fabrics Act.CPSC and Disney are aware of two reports of costumes igniting, resulting in one burn injury to a 4-year-old girl.The Princess Ariel costume has a green skirt with two layers of netting on top and a sequined purple metallic bodice with a picture of Ariel. The costumes were sold in youth sizes 2-4, 4-6X and 8-10. The neckline labels read "The Disney Store."The Disney Store sold the costumes for Halloween from July 2000 through October 2000. The Disney Store catalog and DisneyStore.com sold the costumes from July 2000 through January 2001. The costumes sold for about $29.Consumers should stop wearing these costumes immediately, and return them to any Disney Store or to the Disney Store catalog for a refund and a $10 gift certificate. Announces Recall of "Mulan" Backpacks and Rolling Luggage WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, (CPSC), Pyramid Accessories Inc., of New York, N.Y., is recalling about 3,700 of Mulan backpacks and about 1,800 units of Mulan rolling luggage. The backpacks' and rolling luggage's artwork contains paint with high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by children. CPSC and Pyramid Accessories are not aware of any illnesses or injuries involving these products. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of illness or injury. Two styles of the backpacks are involved in the recall, each bearing artwork depicting the Disney character Mulan. One style has a fan-shaped, exterior envelope that partially covers Mulan's face. The other has a rectangular, exterior envelope below a standing character. The backpacks were sold in two colors: pink and purple. The rolling luggage is pink, about 18 inches long and bears the standing image of Mulan. Retail stores nationwide sold these items from June 1998 through July 1998. The backpacks sold for about $12 and $14, and the luggage sold for about $25 to $30. Consumers should immediately take these items away from children and return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Announce Recall of Disney Babies Romper Sets for Boys and Girls WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Catton Brothers Corp. of New York, N.Y., is recalling about 13,200 Disney Babies romper sets for boys and girls. Some of the romper's crotch snaps were improperly attached, exposing a sharp prong. The exposed prong could cause injury to infants. CPSC and Catton Brothers Corp. are not aware of any injuries involving these rompers. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. The Disney Babies romper sets consist of a denim romper with an embroidered Baby Minnie or Baby Mickey and a denim hat with a Baby Minnie or Baby Mickey patch. They are available for boys (style no. 1169) and girls (style no. 1168) in sizes 0 to 6 months and 6 to 9 months. The rompers have two sewn-in labels. One label displays the Disney Babies logo. The other label reads in part, "CATTON BROS. CORP...Style #1168 or 1169...100% Cotton...Made in Bangladesh." Wording on this label is written in English and Spanish. Department and discount stores nationwide sold the romper sets from October 1996 through February 1997 for about $10 to $14. The Disney Store did not sell the rompers. Consumers should stop using the rompers immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. Disney Donald Fun Farms & Disney World Airport Toys Recalled by Arcotoys NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 28, 1989 Release # 89-082 Arcotoys Offers Parts Exchange For Disney Donald Fun Farms And Disney World Airport Toys WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Arcotoys Inc., Westbury, New York, has announced a voluntary recall of certain toy vehicles and the character "Goofy" contained in the company's Disney Donald's Fun Farm, Item No., 6112, and Disney World Airport, Item No. 6113. The sets were sold nationwide from February 1, 1988 through February 8, 1989 for approximately $12.99 each. Tests conducted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) revealed that the wheels attached to the vehicles' axles and Goofy's ears are small parts which can separate from the toys and present a potential choking hazard. Neither CPSC nor the company has received any reports or complaints of small parts separation or injury associated with these products. Consumers should remove only the following items and return them to Arcotoys Inc., 800 Shemes Drive, Westbury, NY 11590 for an exchange with comparable vehicles and characters: (1) Disney Donald's Fun Farm #6112: -remove the four-wheel tractor (2) Disney World Airport #6113: -remove the four-wheel blue, yellow and red vehicles which have blue or yellow wheels; and -remove "Goofy" who has long ears, gold hat and shoes, orange shirt, green vest, brown pants, and white hands. The Fun Farm toy was imported from Hong Kong, and identified by U.S. Customs at the Ports of Buffalo and Seattle during joint surveillance with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Inc., New York, New York is voluntarily recalling its Model No. 8634 Disney Babies "Spin Around Playhouse." Components of this toy may separate and the resulting small parts may present a choking, aspiration or ingestion hazard. This toy consists of a house which spins around on a Lazy Susan with four different color doors, two on the front and two on the back. There are three Disney figures on top of the house. The box is labeled, "Spin Around House Disney Babies Activity Toy" and lists Illco's name. A total of 6,708 of these toys were sold nationwide in retail stores for approximately $14.00 from 1987 to 1988. Consumers should remove the product from their children's reach and return it-to the store where purchased for an exchange or refund. November 17, 1988 Release # 88-098 Toy Firm Recalls Disney Baby Play Gyms WASHINGTON - Illco Toy Company, USA, Inc., of New York is voluntarily recalling some of its "Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Baby Play Gyms" because buckles and loops may dislodge from the straps and, along with an attached rattle, may present a choking hazard to young children. This recall applies only to gyms with plastic or unstitched fabric straps. Gyms having fabric straps that are stitched in two locations are not being recalled. The freestanding activity center for infants, gym no. 8722, has four tubular-shaped supports and a crossbar with three fabric or plastic straps suspended from the crossbar. Each strap holds a toy, namely Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and a disc-shaped baby rattle with a mirror on one side. The baby gym sold nationally for about $17.00 in 1987. Illco and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said some parents have complained about buckles coming off unstitched fabric straps on gym sets. CPSC tests have shown that buckles may also come loose from plastic straps. The buckles and loops of the gym are small enough to be ingested by an infant. In addition, the mirrored rattle may break into small parts and may present a potential choking hazard if it comes off the strap. Consumers having a gym set with plastic or unstitched fabric straps holding the figures and rattle to the crossbar should immediately take the toys away from infants and toddlers and request replacement straps, buckles, and rattles by writing to the Consumer Service Department, Illco Toy Company, 200 Fifth Avenue, New York, New York 10010

Recalls Hand Holders WASHINGTON, DC - Playskool Baby, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., is voluntarily recalling its Baby Guards Disney Hand Holder No.9560 and its Baby Guards Sesame Street Hand Holder No. 9562. Some of the painted Mickey Mouse and Big Bird characters on the wristbands may contain excess levels of lead and, if ingested, may present a potential lead poisoning hazard. The hand holders have two wristbands, one for the child and one for an adult, which fasten with velcro. Approximately 20,000 were shipped from June 1987 through November 1987. The handholders sold for around $8.95 each. Neither Hasbro, Inc. nor CPSC is aware of any injuries or deaths associated with these products. Consumers should discontinue use of the products and return them to the retail store where purchased for a full refund of the purchase price. Consumers may also return the products to Playskool Baby, Inc., PO Box 200, Pawtucket, RI 02862-0200 for a full refund. Consumers can also call Playskool at (800) 752-9755.
