Nerf N-Strike Blasters (Hasbro) – skin catch (2008)

This recall involves the Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 Blasters for children age 6 and up. The toy blaster is yellow with a black handle and orange plunger, trigger, and reload clip. The word "NERF" in black lettering is on both sides of the blaster and the word "ARMED" is indented on the orange plunger. "RECON CS-6" is on the gray cocking mechanism. There are five interchangeable parts including the shoulder stock, the flip-up sight, barrel extension, quick re-load clip and dual-mode light beam. Model number 63552 and UPC codes 653569272021 and 653569311218 can be found on the packaging. Only blasters with an exposed orange plunger are included in this recall.

The Super Soaker Monster Rocket is composed of a 7-foot inflatable mylar rocket with a plastic and foam fin section. The rocket has a blue and orange launch base with a water pressure tank attached to one leg of the base. The tank, which has an orange cap, is connected to the pump mechanism, which launches the rocket using pressurized air and water. The water toy has the words "Monster Rocket" printed on the body of the rocket.

The flexible spout on the cup can tear between the slitted opening, causing a small piece of material to come loose, posing a choking hazard to young children. Playskool has received 115 reports of the spouts on these cups tearing. Six children reportedly had pieces in their mouths. There have been no reported injuries. These are plastic cups for children aged 6 months old and up. The cups include a twist-on lid that has a flexible, yellow spout. The lids come in various colors, and have "Playskool" written on them. The bottom of the cups have the writing, "MADE IN CHINA," and "HASBRO." The cups were sold under seven different models - the 6 oz. and 8 oz. Spillproof Cups, 6 oz. Spillproof Trainer Cup, 7 oz. and 10 oz. Easy Grip Spillproof Cups, and 8 oz. Spillproof Trainer and 6 oz. Spillproof Cups with Teletubby character decals imprinted on the cups. The cups were sold in both single and two-packs. The trainer cups have two handles. Major retailers, including Walmart and Target, sold these cups nationwide from January 1998 through July 1999 for between $3 and $6. Parents and caregivers should stop young children from using these cups immediately, and contact Playskool to get a free, redesigned lid. The spring in the battery compartments of these toys can dislodge, causing the batteries to overheat or rupture. This can cause burns to consumers. Hasbro has received 38 reports of Lightsaber batteries overheating, including six reports of batteries rupturing. There are three reports of minor burns to consumers, and one consumer reported experiencing eye irritation. There are two models of Lightsaber toys involved in this recall. The Darth Maul TM Double-Bladed Lightsaber has retractable red plastic "light blades" on both sides of a metallic-gray hand grip. When the blades are fully extended, the toy is 5 feet long. The Qui-Gon Jinn TM Lightsaber has a single retractable "light blade" made of green plastic that extends from a metallic-gray hand grip to about 3 feet. Both Lightsaber toys operate with two "C" batteries. The plastic blades on double-bladed Lightsaber light up when struck against another object, and the single-bladed Lightsaber stays continually lit when turned on. Both feature energy "humming," "charge-up" and motion-activated battle crash sounds. Mass merchandise and toys stores nationwide sold these Lightsabers from May 1999 through June 1999 for $20 to $30. Consumers should stop using these Lightsabers immediately, and call Hasbro to get a free repair kit. The repair kit contains instructions on how to install a battery protector. The small wheel hubs can separate from the axle, creating a potential choking hazard. Tonka has received about 40 reports of wheel hubs separating from the axle, including two reports of children starting to choke. No injuries have been reported. Soft Walkin' Wheels are battery-powered, soft toy vehicles designed to move across floors in the home. They are covered in brightly colored nylon fabric and are available in five styles: dump truck, school bus, airplane, train, and fire truck. Soft Walkin' Wheels included in this recall have serial numbers lower than 9528 or do not have a visible serial number. The numbers are printed in blue ink on the sewn-in label that displays the toy's cleaning instructions, brand name, and model number. Major toy stores and mass merchandise outlets nationwide sold these toys beginning in January 1994 for about $15. Consumers should take these recalled toys away from children immediately. To receive a free replacement, consumers may call Tonka at 1 (800) 327-8264. Consumers may also return the toys to the store where purchased for a free replacement or full refund. The 13-inch tall teddy bear has two sewn-in labels: a red label with the Playskool name and a white label with the item number and washing instructions. About 170,390 Teddy Bears were shipped from October 1990 through the end of 1992, and sold for approximately $15.00 each. PROBLEM: Although the Teddy Bear passed all Federal regulations, Playskool received 18 complaints that the eyes separate from the Teddy Bear. While no injuries have been reported, a choking hazard does exist. WHAT TO DO: Return the Teddy Bear to Playskool, Inc., P.O. Box 1990, Pawtucket, RI 02802 for a full refund of the purchase price and postage; or return the Teddy Bear to the store where purchased for a full refund. September 16, 1991 Release # 91-119 Playskool Recalls Sesame Street And Happy Face Animal Pacifiers WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Playskool Baby, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., has informed the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that it is voluntarily recalling its Sesame Street Big Bird pacifier, #3680/3682, and its Happy Face Animal mouse and elephant pacifiers, #3185/3188. Playskool Baby has determined that the pacifiers may separate, creating small parts that could present a choking hazard. Approximately 844,000 of these pacifiers have been sold nationwide since 1989. Although the pacifiers have passed all Federal test requirements, Playskool Baby has received 41 complaints in 1991 from consumers and, in the interest of children's safety, has decided to recall the pacifiers. The firm has received no reports of serious injury. Consumers should return Sesame Street Big Bird pacifiers and Happy Face Animal mouse and elephant pacifiers to Playskool Baby, Inc., Consumer Service Department, 200 Narragansett Park Drive, P.O. Recalls "Love A Bye Baby" Washington, DC -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Hasbro, Inc. is voluntarily recalling its "Love-A-Bye Baby" doll line because the CPSC has determined that the doll's arms, baby bottle and comb are small parts that could present a serious choking hazard to young children under three years of age. The dolls are 3-1/2 inches tall and come in black or white with curly or straight hair, with and without hair ribbons. The sets include a Love-A-Bye Baby doll, a 1-1/2 inch baby bottle, and a two-inch comb and sold for between $2.00 and $5.00 each. Other Love-A-Bye doll accessories are sold separately but are not being recalled. Approximately 3,749,000 were distributed nationwide from December 1987 to March 1989. Consumers should take the doll, baby bottle, and comb away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund. The Company has determined that the printed red logo on the product may exceed the 0.06% lead content limit established by federal law. Although there have been no reports of consumer problems or complaints,. the company decided to recall based on its own ongoing quality control process. Consumers should discontinue use of the Color 'n Contrast Busy Box and return the box to the retail store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price. Recalls Honkers Dolls Because Of Possible Choking Hazard WASHINGTON, D.C. -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Aviva Hasbro, Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc., Pawtucket, Rhode Island, today announced a voluntary recall of its Sesame Street Honkers plush doll because the toy has small parts which could present a choking hazard. When the Honkers dolls were tested for compliance with the CPSC small parts requirement, the eyes came off. The detached eyes are small parts that could present a choking, ingestion or aspiration hazard to children. The CPSC and Aviva Hasbro, Inc., do not know of any injuries involving the Honkers doll. The Honkers doll is made of deep pink, orange or purple plush fabric and has a large pink or yellow plastic nose, black and white eyes, yellow plastic ears shaped like horns, and a black fabric mouth. The doll is approximately 9 inches tall. A sewn on label reads in part, "HASBRO INDUSTRIES INC. SESAME STREET. . . 1983 HUPPETS, INC. . . 100% Polyester Fibers. MADE IN CHINA H-15 . ." Approximately 144,000 Honkers dolls were distributed from 6-30-83 to 2-13-85 through retail stores nationwide and through Public Television Stations in New York, Philadelphia and ston as promotional items. Consumers should remove these toys from use immediately and return them for a refund directly to Aviva Hasbro, Inc., P.O. Box 1060, I 4 Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02862.
