This recall involves the M18 FUEL Top Handle Chainsaw, catalog number 2826-20 with a serial break identified with "A" in the product's serial number. The catalog number can be found on the upper right portion of the product's nameplate. The serial number can be found on upper left portion of the nameplate, and the serial break level is the 4th digit of the serial number. The product is a battery-operated chainsaw that comes with either a 12" or 14" bar, which is intended for use with Milwaukee's M18 batteries. The product is sold either individually as a bare tool that includes a chain and bar cover and blade wrench, or as a kit that includes two (2)M18 batteries, an M18 battery charger, a chain and bar cover and a blade wrench.

The recalled batteries are used to power drills, saws, radios, flashlights, wrenches and Extractor windshield glass removers. The recall includes 14.4- and 18-Volt 2.4Ah NiCd Milwaukee Power Plus, Chicago Pneumatic, and Extractor battery packs manufactured between July 1999 and February 2004. The brand name can be found on a label on most battery packs. However, some 14.4-Volt 2.4Ah packs did not have "Power Plus" on the label. The battery packs were sold both with tool kits and as individual battery packs. Battery packs manufactured after February 2004 are not included in this recall.

Announce Recall of Electric Wrenches WASHINGTON, D.C.- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., of Brookfield, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 6,000 electric wrenches. The wrenches have power cords that can release from the handle, posing an injury or electrocution hazard to consumers. Milwaukee and CPSC have not received any reports of incidents. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. The recalled impact wrenches are shaped like drills, but use a forward/reverse (impact) action to tighten/loosen bolts. The wrenches have a red handle, a red and gray body, and the name "Milwaukee" printed on the drill. The model and serial numbers included in this recall can be found on the nameplate located on the body of the tool. Model Numbers Serial Numbers 9070-20 229A401010001 thru 229A401250722 9071-20 239A401010001 thru 239A401250404 9075-20 230A401010001 thru 230A401260104 Home centers, hardware stores, and industrial distributors nationwide sold these wrenches from March 2001 to July 2001 for between $180 and $280. Consumers should stop using these electric wrenches immediately and return them to the nearest Milwaukee Factory Service Center or authorized power tool service center for a free repair. Consumers also can call Milwaukee toll-free at (866) 473-2288 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. CT Monday through Friday. Consumers can locate the nearest service facility by visiting the company's website at www.mil-electric-tool.com. Wrenches that have a "X" stamped or etched on the nameplate next to the serial number have already been repaired.

The switches on these power tools, which were manufactured by Eaton Corp., of Cleveland, Ohio, can stick. The drills can continue to operate after the trigger is released, posing a risk of injury to consumers. Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. has received four reports of drill switches sticking in the on position and one report of a hand injury. DEWALT has received three reports of drill switches sticking in the on position but no reported injuries. October 10, 1995 Release # 96-002 WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation of Brookfield, Wis., is recalling approximately 9,300 sander/grinders. A switch on the tools may stick "on" or may "turn on" with minima trigger pressure, which could subject the tool operator to injury.Milwaukee 4-1/2" Mag series sander/grinders with nameplate catalog numbers 6148 or 6151, and packaging catalog numbers 6148-6, 6149-6, and 6151 are included in this recall. The nameplate catalog number is found on the label located on top of the sander/grinder, and the packaging label is found on the side of the box the tool is purchased in. Milwaukee Electric has not received any reports of injury involving the sander/grinders.The sander/grinders were sold from July 1, 1995 to September 30, 1995 for about $120 each through construction and industrial distributors, home centers, and hardware stores nationwide.Consumers who own a recalled sander/grinder should return it for a replacement to the place of purchase, or to Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation at 8950 Hacks Cross Road, Olive Branch, Miss. 38654, or to the nearest Milwaukee Branch Office/Service Center. If it is necessary to ship 4-1/2" Mag Series sander/grinders, Milwaukee recommends that returns be made via United parcel Service (UPS). Milwaukee will reimburse tool owners for shipping expenses.
