BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2016-2017 MINI Cooper Clubman, Cooper S Clubman and JCW Clubman vehicles. When the affected vehicles are braking and the turn signals are on, the inner, bumper-mounted, brake light will go out. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
This recall involves Little Giant Velocity™, LT™ and Liberty™ multipurpose ladders. The ladders have joints that allow it to bend and lock in various positions. "Little Giant," the model name, model number and part number are printed on the side of the ladder. BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 MINI Clubman vehicles manufactured August 19, 2015, through July 14, 2016. The side curtain air bags for the front seat occupants may deploy in the intended positions in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 MINI Cooper Hardtop 2 door vehicles manufactured February 25, 2014, to May 16, 2015, 2014-2015 MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 door vehicles manufactured March 28, 2014, to May 9, 2015, 2015 MINI Cooper Hardtop 4 door vehicles manufactured October 17, 2014, to June 2, 2015, and 2015 MINI Cooper S Hardtop 4 door vehicles manufactured November 24, 2014, to June 11, 2015. During a service appointment, the affected vehicles received replacement front passenger seat cushions (which contain integral Capacitive Interior Sensing (CIS) functions). The CIS functions may have been incorrectly calibrated, and if so, would cause impaired occupant classification and thus inappropriate air bag activation/deactivation.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2002-2005 MINI Cooper and Cooper S vehicles and 2005 Cooper and Cooper S Convertible vehicles. The affected vehicles may experience temporary or permanent loss of the electro-hydraulic steering assistance.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 MINI Cooper S and MINI Cooper two-door vehicles, 2015-2016 MINI John Cooper Works and MINI Cooper S and MINI Cooper four-door vehicles and 2014-2015 BMW i3 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the passenger frontal air bag may not deploy properly in a low speed crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S Hardtop 2 Door vehicles and 2015 MINI John Cooper Works Hardtop 2 Door vehicles. The affected vehicles do not meet the side impact performance requirements for the rear seat passengers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214, "Side Impact Protection."
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2005-2006 MINI Cooper and Cooper S vehicles manufactured January 5, 2005, to November 28, 2006, and 2005-2008 MINI Cooper Convertible and Cooper S Convertible vehicles manufactured January 5, 2005, to July 31, 2008. Due to manufacturing, installation, and exposure issues, the front passenger seat occupant detection mat may not function properly and, as a result, the front passenger air bag may not deploy in a crash.
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 MINI Cooper Hardtop two door vehicles manufactured December 1, 2013, to December 14, 2014. The affected vehicles may have been manufactured with an incorrect maximum capacity weight stated on the Tire Information Placard. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or less."

During service appointments, dealers may have inadvertently reprogrammed the transmission control unit with software that may allow drivers to exit the vehicle when the transmission is not in Park. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."

BMW Is recalling certain model year 2011 Mini Cooper Clubman and Cooper S Clubman vehicles manufactured from February 8, 2011, through May 11, 2011, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standard No. 101, "Controls and Displays." These vehicles are equipped with a European specification tachometer that uses brake-system telltales/symbols that do not meet U.S. requirements.

JUNE 8, 1993 Release # 93-078 PRODUCT: Approximately 24,600 "Bamm-Bamm's Drum and Flute" toys sold from May 1988 through October 1991 at the following amusement parks: Kings Dominion, Doswell, VA; Carowinds, Charlotte, NC; Kings Island, Cincinnati, OH; and Great America, Santa Clara, CA. PROBLEM: The bell attached to the top of the drum and a ball attached to the side of the drum came off during U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission testing and present a choking hazard to young children. WHAT TO DO: Mail one side of the plastic drum to: Laura Miranda, San Pacific International, Inc., 542 Brannan St., San Francisco, CA 94107. Consumers will receive a full refund, including reimbursement for postage. The remaining portion of the toy should be discarded. WASHINGTON, DC -- CPSC, San Pacific International, Inc. of San Francisco, CA is voluntarily recalling 24,576 "Bamm-Bamm's Drum/Flute" toys that were sold from May 1988 through October 1991. When CPSC tested the product, a bell attached to the top of the drum and a ball attached to the side of the drum came off, presenting a potential choking hazard for young children. This voluntary recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. Neither CPSC nor San Pacific International is aware of any injuries involving this product. The potentially hazardous drum/flute toy was identified by CPSC and the State Consumer Group in Richmond, VA. The product consists of a whistle at one end and a see- through hand-held drum at the other end. Three circular holes are in the handle of the toy. The complete toy measures 7 1/2 inches long. The whistle portion resembles a flute; a small puff of air at or near the mouthpiece of the flute causes a whistle sound. Each side of the drum has a see-through sticker that shows "Bamm-Bamm," the Stone Age animated character of a little boy as seen on the "Flintstones" cartoon show. Bamm-Bamm is wearing a leopard loincloth and cap, and is carrying a green club. The drum has two plastic balls 1/2 inch in diameter hanging on the end of a string secured to the drum. The drum with balls was sold in different colors. Two metal silver bells 1/3 inch in diameter each are attached to the top of the drum. When the drum/flute toy is twisted back and forth or shaken, the balls hit the sides of the drum to make a noise and the bells ring. The cardboard heading on the cellophane package in which the toy was sold reads: "BAMM-BAMM'S DRUM and FLUTE, 1988 HB PROD. INC." The label embossed on the see- through sticker of the drum reads: "BAMM-BAMM'S DRUM and FLUTE, 1988 HB PROD. INC., KINGS DOMINION." The drum/flute toys, imported by San Pacific International from Taiwan, were sold for $3.98 each at retail stores in the amusement parks of Kings Dominion, Doswell, VA; Carowinds, Charlotte, NC; Kings Island, Cincinnati, OH; and Great America, Santa Clara, CA. Consumers are urged to take the drum/flute toys away from young children immediately and mail one side of the plastic drums to: Laura Miranda, San Pacific International, Inc., 542 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94107. Infants can break the rattles during use exposing small parts which present choking, aspiration or ingestion hazards. The hazardous rattles feature a center part in the shape of a bear face, butterfly, bell or train engine. According to the company, 60,000 sets of these recalled baby bibs with rattles were distributed nationwide through J.C. Penney retail stores since January 1988. The product sold at retail for about $2.25. While no known choking incidents have been reported to date, the company is recalling the rattles to prevent the possibility of such accidents from occurring. Consumers should take note that rattles with a sunflower or horse shaped center part plus the rattles distributed with Bib #200A are not being recalled. Consumers who have the recalled rattles should immediately take them back to the retailer from whom they were obtained. A bounty of $1.00 will be paid for each hazardous rattle returned. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Originally issued December 1983, Revised April 8, 2003 Release # 83-069 Alcan's Brasilian Unit Recalling Faulty Pressure Cookers Washington, D.C.--The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Alcan Aluminio Do Brasil, S.A., the Brasilian subsidiary of Alcan Aluminum Limited of Montreal, announced that approximately 300,000 pressure cookers distributed in the United States and Puerto Rico between 1977 and 1983 were being recalled. Approximately 240,000 of the pressure cookers were marketed in Puerto Rico and the rest were distributed in the Continental United States, primarily in Spanish-speaking areas of New York, Newark, New Jersey, Tampa and Miami, Florida. The pressure cookers were recalled because of a faulty gasket which allows the pots to be opened while still containing pressure. Continued use of the pressure cookers could result in physical injury to the users. Alcan is aware of two incidents involving this pressure cooker which resulted in scald type injuries. The pressure cookers are marketed under the company's "Rochedo" brand name and they can be identified by the stamp "'A Product of Alcan Aluminio do Brasil" on the bottom of the pot. Consumers should stop using the product and discard or destroy it. The company is out of business and cannot be contacted. Any pressure cooker with a "U.L.
