Polaroid DVD Player Batteries (Petters) – Battery Safety Risk (2005)

The recall involves external battery packs used with the Polaroid-brand portable DVD players in 7-inch and 8-inch screen sizes. The 7-inch DVD player has model number PDV-0700 and the 8-inch player has a model number of PDV-0800. The players and battery packs are silver in color. The products involved in this recall are outdoor gas barbeque grills. The recall includes three types of grills: The Commercial Series, Professional Series and Stainless Steel Series. The specific component involved in the recall is the temperature gauge mounted on the grill lid. The Commercial Series models are constructed from both painted metal and Stainless Steel. The Professional Series and Stainless Steel Series models are Stainless Steel construction. The Commercial Series gas grills have model numbers 4632210, 4632215, 463221503 and 463231503. These grills are sold with three main burners, with or without a side burner, and either a metal front panel or a cabinet with doors. The Professional Series gas grills have model numbers 4632235, 4632236, 4632240 and 4632241. These grills are sold as LP or natural gas, three or four main burners, with or without a side burner, and a cabinet with doors. The Stainless Steel Series by Char-Broil gas grill has model number 4632220. This grill is sold with three main burners and an open Stainless Steel Cart. The grill model number is located on a label on the back panel of the storage cart. Char-Broil grills with model numbers other than those identified above are not included in this recall.

Portable Air Compressor (Ingersoll-Rand) – Mechanical Risk (2002)

The recalled portable compressors have single-phase electric motors up to 3hp or gasoline engines up to 8hp with tank sizes up to 30 gallons. The compressors were marketed under various brand names, including Ajax, Charge Air Pro, Energair, Guardian Power, MacTool, Power Force, Rallye, Rand 4000, and Steel Driver. The compressors have serial numbers beginning with the prefix "C" or "DC". The model numbers begin with the following prefixes - 1B, 1D, 1E, 1I, 2B, 2D, 2E, 3B, 3D, 3E, 4B, 4E, 5E, 5G, 15E, 23HP, 75, 75E, 250E, AB, AIR, AJ, C, CAP, CB, CL, CO, CP, CR, CS, CT, EA, GC, GP, HP, HPC, IR, IRC, LTD, MT, OI, PF, RA, RL, RP, RY, SC, SDS, SE, THP, and WB. Model and serial numbers are located on a plate or sticker attached to the outside housing of the air compressor. On some oil-less models, the model and serial numbers are affixed to an internal floor baffle, beneath a removable plastic cabinet. Air compressor receiver tanks do not have an infinite life. Tank life is dependent upon several factors, some of which include operating conditions, ambient conditions, proper installations, field modifications, and the level of maintenance. The exact effect of these factors on air receiver life is difficult to predict. Due to the current age of these products, Ingersoll-Rand is voluntarily undertaking this action to take these products out of service.

These bicycle helmets fail impact testing and labeling required under CPSC's Safety Standard for Bicycle Helmets, violating the Consumer Product Safety Act. Riders wearing these helmets are not properly protected from falls, and could suffer severe head injuries. CPSC and Rand International are not aware of any injuries or incidents involving these products. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries and incidents. The recalled helmets are various models of the L.A. Cruisin' bicycle helmets. The helmets were sold in various child, youth and adult sizes. The youth and adult-sized helmets are white or black and the child sizes are either blue or pink. A label inside the helmet reads, "Manufactured by Rand International," and MADE IN CHINA." Writing on the packaging reads, "RAND," "L.A. Cruisin'," and "Meets CPSC & ASTM Standards78." Kmart and Rose's stores nationwide sold these bicycle helmets from April 1999 through March 2000 for about $8. Consumers should stop wearing these bicycle helmets immediately, and return them to Rand International for a free replacement helmet. PROBLEM: If the juicer is not reassembled properly after cleaning, during use the plastic upper body may possibly malfunction, causing injury to consumers nearby. WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the juicers and call Telebrands at 1-800-269-1572 for complete instructions on how and where to return the juicer with proof of purchase for full refund of purchase price and postage. WASHINGTON, DC -- CPSC, Telebrands of Roanoke, VA is voluntarily recalling Sweda Juice Factory electric juicers. This recall is limited only to the Sweda Juice Factory electric juicers made in China and sold at Jamesway and Caldor retailers after April 1, 1992.
