Mini-Cultivator Attachments (STIHL) - Laceration Hazard (2020)

The recalled mini-cultivator is one of 15 interchangeable attachments to the STIHL KombiMotor KM model powerheads, which are sold separately. The mini-cultivator is used to break up loose soil. It has four black discs with tines mounted to a gearbox and attached to a metal drive tube with a black deflector. The mini-cultivator attachment should have been assembled by the STIHL dealer and not sold in a box or assembled by the consumer. The recalled mini-cultivator attachments are those with the gearbox installed upside down.

The recalled chain saws are model number 019T with serial numbers 249129398 through 249956311. A label on the chain saw reads in part "STIHL" and "model number 019T." The serial number is imprinted on the front of the chain saw. Stihl dealers sold the chain saws from December 2000 through May 5, 2001 for about $270. PROBLEM: A missing screw can cause the chain brake to fail to operate, presenting a laceration hazard to consumers. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: None reported. WHAT TO DO: Consumers should stop using the recalled chain saw immediately and return it to the Stihl dealer where purchased for repair. The recalled table seat has a metal frame with a fabric cover, and connects to the edge of a table to allow a child to sit and eat at the table. The table seat does not have legs; instead, it is suspended in the air by clamps that connect to the underside of the table. The chairs come in blue and yellow and have the name "Inglesina" printed on the arms and the back of the seat. Department stores and toy stores sold the Table Chair from June 2000 through May 2001 for about $50. PROBLEM: The seats were sold without a seat belt, posing a risk to children who climb out of the seat. INCIDENTS/INJURIES: Inglesina USA has received one report of a 10-month- old girl who fell from a table seat, and bruised her back. The gas cap on some of these saws can loosen and leak fuel during use, which presents a fire hazard. Stihl Inc. has received nine reports of burn injury resulting from fires involving these chain saws. Model 029 or model 039 Stihl chain saws with a serial number of 235153631 and below are involved in this recall. The model number is located on top of the saws' engine, and the serial number is located in the saws' housing, above the bumper spikes, directly under the front hand guard. Stihl servicing dealers have sold the saws nationwide since March 1993 for about $350 to $450. Consumers should immediately stop using the saws, and return them to an authorized Stihl dealer for a free replacement of the gas cap. August 30, 1994 Release # 94-122 Washington, D.C.- - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Stihl Inc. of Virginia Beach, Va., announced today that it is recalling approximately 50,000 series 1127 chain saws, models 029 and 039 that were manufactured from March 7, 1993 to August 12, 1994. An ignition ground wire on the saw can wear out prematurely and possibly start a fire if it comes into contact with gasoline from the saw or with any other combustible substance. Stihl Inc. has received at least one report of a fire associated with a worn-out ignition ground wire.The recalled saws were sold nationally through Stihl servicing dealers for about $400 to $450 each. The recalled model 029 saws have serial numbers 226585676 and above, and the recalled model 039 saws have serial numbers 227236569 and above. The model number is located on the top of the chain saw's engine and the serial numbers are stamped onto the chain saw's housing, adjacent to the exhaust/muffler opening.Owners of the recalled Stihl model 029 or 039 chain saws should discontinue using the saws immediately and return them to an authorized Stihl dealer for a free repair of the ground wire.
