Tie Rod Assembly (Meritor) – Ball Stud Defect (2024)

Meritor, Inc. (Meritor) is recalling certain replacement tie rods equipped with USK ball studs, part numbers A1-3102F4738, A1-3102E4737, and A1-3102P4748. The tie rod assemblies may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated, which can cause them to break, and possibly result in tie rod failure.

The four wheel, off-highway utility vehicles were sold in Metallic Sierra Blue, Metallic Onyx Black, Firecracker Red, Ice Gray, TRUETIMBER® Strata, Metallic Titanium, and Metallic Stardust White colors. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the forward frame rail below the seat. The model name and model code are printed on the owner's manual.
