Hyde Cliff Hanger Tree Stand (Primal Vantage) – Fall Hazard (2015)

This recall involves two 2014 models of hang-on tree stands used by hunters. They include the Ameristep Hyde Cliff Hanger with model number 2RX1H008C and date code JH-2014-3-6 and the Ameristep Hyde Sky Walker with model number 2RX1H009C and date code JH-2014-3-6. The date code is stamped on the back of the tree stand's aluminum seat frame. The model number is printed on the packaging and in the instruction manual. "Hyde" is printed in red on the vertical aluminum bar between the seat and the foot platform.

The model number and UPC are not written on the tree stands, but can be found on the packaging.

Children's Activity Books (Advantage) – Potential Hazard (2005)

The recalled children's activity books are multi-colored, with holes in the pages to touch a variety of fabrics and to push a squeaker toy, flaps to lift, and a clear plastic container with beads. The "Amazing Baby Look and Play" activity book has a yellow star on the cover. The "Amazing Baby Touch and Play" book has a brown bear on the cover. The activity books measure about 11 inches by 11 inches, and are for children ages 12 months to 24 months. The recalled "Rattle, Rattle" board book has a magenta car on the cover. The board book measures about 5½ inches by 5½ inches, and is intended for children ages 6 months to 18 months.

Educational Kits (Advantage Publishers) – Component Issue (2001)

Advantage Publishers Recall of Educational Kits Advantage Publishers Group, of San Diego, Calif., is voluntarily recalling to replace components in about 160,000 "Let's Start™ Numbers" and "Optical Illusions Lab" educational kits. The red painted numbers on the acetate stencil sheet included in the "Let's Start™" kit contain lead; and the gold paint bearing the words "Kasy's Extrafine" on the black pen included in the "Optical Illusions" kit has lead. CPSC and Advantage Publishers Group have not received any reports of incidents. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injuries. Lead poisoning is a serious hazard to children, and is associated with behavioral problems, learning disabilities, hearing problems and growth retardation. The "Let's Start™" kit has a blue and red cover with a dog on the front, and contains an interactive book that uses exercises and activities to introduce children to numbers. The clear acetate stencil sheet is part of a packet of activity pieces, including a cleaning sponge, counting coins, a magic pen, and a counting frame. On the back of the kit, it reads in part, "This product is suitable for use only by children over 4 years of age." The "Optical Illusions" kit has a multi- colored cover with various geometric shapes, and reads in part, "Only for use by children over 8 years of age and under adult supervision." The black pen is included with an activity book and various shapes and images used to perform optical experiments. Retail stores, national book chains, wholesalers and distributors, and membership warehouse clubs nationwide sold the educational kits from February 1999 through May 2001 for between $13 and $20. Consumers should immediately remove the stencil sheets and pens from the activity kits and discard them. Smoke Detectors Recalled by Chloride Pyrotector NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 3, 1981 Release # 81-020 Smoke Detectors Recalled WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 3, 1981) -- Some Commercial and residential battery-operated photoelectric smoke detectors sold since 1979 under the brand names of Chloride Pyrotector, Archer, Masterguard, Vanguard, Vantage I and Protect-er Systems are being recalled because a potentially defective electronic microchip may prevent the alarm from sounding in the presence of smoke. The recall is being conducted voluntarily by the Chloride Pyrotector Division of Chloride, Inc., Hingham, Mass., in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Some of the firm's 185,000 smoke detectors manufactured from March 1, 1979 to March 15, 1981 may contain a transistor array semiconductor that will not operate in the presence of smoke. Owners of the smoke detectors have been asked by the manufacturer to remove the back plate of the product so that the model or code number may be checked on the interior hosing. Potentially defective smoke detectors include the following: Chloride Pyrotector - Models 3077,3078,3079; Archer number 275453 sold through Radio Shack; Masterguard MGB 360; Vanguard 817; and Protect-er Systems P365. Potentially defective models also will have a 6-digit data code on the housing showing dates between 030179 and 031581. Consumer wishing to verify the model number should contact CPSC's toll-free Hotline at 800-638-2772. Commerical and residential users may verify the integrity of the smoke detectors by testing the horn with a fresh factory specified 9-volt battery. If the horn sounds when the test button is pressed, the detector does not contain a defective microchip; if the horn does not sound, the user is requested to call Roberta Calla of Chloride Pyrotector at 1-800-343-5647 for instructions on where to send the product for a free replacement or repair.
