This recall involves all ADC brand stacked commercial clothes dryers with a 30 lb. capacity and model number ADG-30X2R or ADG-30X2Ri. Both models were sold in on-premise and coin-operated configurations for multi-unit housing, laundromats, and other facilities that use commercial laundry equipment. Logos and branding may appear differently depending on when the unit was manufactured. The model number for each unit is printed inside near the hinges of the upper door. The ADG-30X2R units were also sold in custom colors other than white to fit location branding.

The ovens were sold in stainless steel, oiled bronze, black and white. The Jenn-Air logo is affixed to the lower right corner of the oven door. Wall ovens included in the recall have model numbers that begin with JJW2, JJW3, JMW2 or JMW3 and a serial number beginning with D or F. Model and serial numbers for single and double ovens are located under the control panel, and for combination ovens, the model and serial number are located near the center vent of the lower oven.

Dehumidifiers with water buckets located in back are not involved in the recall.

Whirlpool Will Retrofit Below-Counter Dishwashers NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 3, 1989 Release # 89-063 Whirlpool Will Retrofit Below-Counter Dishwashers WASHINGTON -- If you live in Kentucky, Illinois or Indiana and have one of five Whirlpool below-the-counter dishwashers, the company wants to replace the appliance's pushbutton switch to correct a possible fire hazard. According to Whirlpool, the undercounter dishwashers to be modified are models DU7400-O, DU7600XS-0, DU9000XR-0, and DU9000XR-1. The model and serial number may be found on a plate on the right front edge of the tub after the door is opened. The appliances were sold after February, 1986. The company said it was issuing a second recall notice to homeowners in the tri-state area because of poor consumer response to its first recall notice in August, 1988. The pushbutton switch may short-circuit and could cause a fire; forty-five such fires have been reported to Whirlpool, nine of which spread outside the appliance. While the company has attempted to locate all affected dishwashers in the tri-state area, consumers who have not been contacted by Whirlpool should have their model and serial number available, then call the company toll-free at 1-800-541-5746 to arrange for free service. Until the switch is installed, owners should not'use the appliance. Temporarily, the power should be turned off or the dishwasher door left unlatched.

The incorrect model numbers cited were DU900XR-0 and DU900XR-1. The correct model numbers are DU9000XR-0 and DU9000XR-1, in addition to model numbers DU7400XS-0, DU7600XS-0, and DU7800XS-0. Owners who have not yet been contacted should call Whirlpool's toll-free number, 1-800-541-5746 for free service. The full text of the CPSC News release with the corrected model numbers follows: SOME WHIRLPOOL UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER MODELS NEED TO BE MODIFIED TO PREVENT FIRES WASHINGTON, DC - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Whirlpool Corporation of Benton Harbor, Michigan, has announced a modification program involving five Whirlpool undercounter dishwasher models; DU400XS-O, DU7600XS-O, DU800XS-O, DU9000XR-O and DU9000XR-1. The pushbutton selector switch on these models could, under a specific set of conditions, catch fire. There have been twelve fire incidents including three, which spread outside the dishwasher. No injuries have been reported. The Whirlpool modification program involves replacing the selector switch, at no charge, on approximately 75,00 dishwashers, of the above model numbers, sold nation wide since March 1986. Although Whirlpool is attempting to locate all affected dishwashers, owners who have not been contacted should have their model and serial numbers ready and immediately call 1-800-541-5746 toll-free to arrange for free service. The model and serial number can be found on a plate located along the right front edge of the tub after the door is opened. Kenmore Canister Vacuum Cleaners Recalled by Sears NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 23, 1987 Release # 87-036 THREE MODELS OF SEARS CANISTER VACUUM CLEANERS RECALLED WASHINGTON, DC -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Whirlpool Corporation of Benton Harbor, Michigan today announced the recall of Sears Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner models 116.2643581, 116.2643583 and 116.2645082 sold between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987. The company is recalling the vacuum cleaners to check the canister wiring. If installed improperly, the wiring could create an electrical short, causing the vacuum cleaner hose to catch on fire. There is also a potential for electrical shock. Whirlpool Corporation is aware of seven reported incidents involving overheating, with one of these incidents involving a minor burn. Between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987 approximately 33,000 of these canister vacuum cleaners were sold nationwide through Sears, Roebuck and Co. stores and catalogs. Various models sold for between $260 and $420, and carry the Kenmore brand name. Customers who purchased a Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987 can check the model number of the vacuum they purchased by looking at the serial plate on the bottom of the canister. IF IT IS MODEL 116.2643581, 116.2643583, OR 116.2645082, THEY SHOULD DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY. Under no circumstances should these vacuum cleaners be used until they have been checked by a Sears service technician. Sears will inspect the vacuum cleaners and make any repairs that may be required free of charge to customers. Customers with canister vacuum cleaners involved in the recall should take their cleaner to the nearest Sears Service Center or the Customer Service Counter of their nearest Sears store. Additional information on the recall of these Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners is available by calling 800-654-1820 toll-free.
