Reason for Recall
As stated by CPSC
This recall involves KTM model year 2008 450XC and 525XC ATVs. The ATVs are orange and black in color and have 450XC and 525 XC branded on the side as well as the KTM™ logo.
Reported concern (CPSC)
The rear brake caliper support can crack; this could result in the potential for a loss of the use of the rear brake and subsequently lead to an accident.
Recommended Action
Per CPSC guidance
Consumers should stop using these vehicles immediately and contact their local KTM dealer to schedule an appointment for a free repair. Consumers with the recalled ATVs have been sent via U.S. mail a safety recall notice from KTM on September 4, 2007.
