Summary derived from NHTSA notice
Reason for Recall
As stated by NHTSA
Westward Industries Ltd. (Westward) is recalling certain model year 2013 Go-4 vehicles manufactured June 2013 through December 2013, and equipped with 20V front calipers. Due to a gap between the front brake caliper and the non-vented brake rotor, as the front brake pads become worn, they may be ejected resulting in a reduction of braking performance.
Reported concern (NHTSA)
Ejection of the front brake pads could lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Recommended Action
Per NHTSA guidance
Westward will notify owners, and dealers will replace the thin non-vented rotors with thicker vented rotors to reduce the gap between the caliper and rotor, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Westward customer service at 1-204-594-4100.
