These robes, when used as sleepwear, fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear. The standards require sleepwear, including robes, to be flame resistant, and if the garment ignites, the flame must self-extinguish. Failure to meet the flammability standards presents a risk of serious burn injuries to children. Federated Department Stores has not received any reports of injuries from these robes. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. The recalled robes are made of 100 percent cotton terry cloth sold under the brand names Aegean, Baby Monarch, b kids, Charter Club, Club Room, and Jr. By Monarch. The robes are a wrap style with waist belt, two front patch pockets and a hood. They were sold in boys and girls sizes 12 months to 14 and in sizes small, medium, large and extra large. The robes come in a variety of colors and prints. The brand name, fabric content and size are on sewn-in on labels. The robes were sold at the following stores from July 1995 through January 2000 for about $25 to $52. The balloon tongue on this toy can detach, posing a choking and aspiration hazard to young children. The Promotional Resources Group has received one report of the balloon tongue detaching from the toy. A 3-year-old boy reportedly removed the balloon tongue, placed it in his nose and inhaled it into his sinus cavity. He required medical treatment to remove the part from his nose. The Bug Zapper toy comes in two different styles: a frog and a lizard. When the toy is squeezed, the balloon tongue of the toy rolls out from the mouth about 2 inches. They toys were mainly orange, green and purple. "CHINA" is molded into the toy. Fast food, drive-in and small franchise restaurants distributed these toys with children's meal from November 1998 through April 2000. Consumers should immediately take these toys from young children, and return the toy to the restaurant where the children's meal was purchased for a free replacement toy. Consumers also can receive a free replacement toy directly from the company. Jordache Ltd., of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 5,400 FUBU brand sweatshirts.
The Associated Merchandising Corp. (AMC) of New York, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling 9,500 infant girls' cargo skirts.
Children's Picnic Sets - Mervyn's California, of Hayward, Calif., is recalling about 1,200 children's plastic picnic sets contained in clear bags. The clear bag reads "AUSTRALIA" in multicolored lettering, "Down Under" in blue lettering.
Some grinders were shipped without the side handle, which is used to control and guide the tool. Use of the grinder without the side handle can cause consumers to lose control of the tool and be injured.

The removable toy bar that attaches to the seat can suddenly release and cause injuries to babies. Kids II has received 122 reports of toy bars suddenly releasing from bouncer seats, resulting in 31 injuries to babies, including a black eye, a scraped eye, and facial cuts. Only Kids II bouncer seats with semi-circular toy bars are recalled. These bouncer seats were sold under the names "Soft Toy Bouncer Seat" or "Comfort Me Bouncer." The Kids II logo is embroidered on each seat's crotch strap. The bouncer seats have a ruffled seat pad in three patterns: a black, white and red cow print; a teddy bear, rocking horse and toy box print; and a nursery rhyme print. Each pattern has certain model and lot numbers, which are found on a tag attached to the seat. The Comfort Me Bouncers feature vibration and soothing sounds, including music, waves and heartbeat. Each semi-circular toy bar has three toys. Some of the recalled seats came with white toy bar tethers. Mass merchandise and juvenile specialty stores nationwide sold the seats from October 1997 through April 2000 for about $25 to $35. Consumers should remove the semi-circular toy bars immediately and contact Kids II for an in-home repair kit. Consumers can continue to use the bouncer seat for the baby to sit in as long as the toy bar is removed. Consumers should call Kids II toll-free at (877) 325-7056 between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for a free repair kit. Studio Store Announce Recall of Tweety Rattles and Sandals WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Warner Bros. Studio Store, of Burbank, Calif., (Warner Bros. Store) is recalling about 3,800 Tweety rattles and 1,000 pairs of Tweety sandals. Both products are being recalled because small parts of each product can detach and pose a choking hazard to young children. CPSC and Warner Bros. Studio Store have received three reports of parents removing detached parts of sandals and a rattle from their babies' mouths. No injuries have been reported. Rattle Recall The rattle is sold as part of a Tweety Bib, Rattle and Spoon Set. The rattle, which is covered with a yellow cloth and is approximately 5 inches long, is a Tweety image and has a small blue and white bib (about 1.5 inches wide and 1.4 inches long) tied around Tweety's neck. Tweety's bib can detach, posing a choking hazard to a young child. Warner Bros. Stores nationwide sold the Tweety Bib, Rattle and Spoon Sets from August 1998 through January 2000 for about $15. Sandals Recall The Tweety sandals are girls' jelly swimwear sandals made of transparent pink plastic with embedded sparkles and a picture on the inside soles of Tweety sitting on flowers. The sandals were sold in infant sizes from 3 to 15 months. The sandals have three round plastic flowers on the top surface. The flowers can detach, posing a choking hazard to a young child. Warner Bros. Stores nationwide sold the sandals from February 2000 through April 2000 for about $10. Consumers should take these products away from children immediately and return them to a Warner Bros. Store for a refund. The smoke alarms can fail to alarm when smoke or fire is present. A capacitor in the alarm can burn out, releasing smoke and melting the cover. Universal has received three reports of alarms failing, releasing smoke. There has been one report of minor smoke damage to the wall of a mobile home. No injuries have been reported. Consumers can identify the recalled models by removing the alarm cover from its base and looking for the manufacture date code and model number. The smoke alarms are made of white plastic and have the manufacture date code and model number imprinted on the back of the alarm. WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation, of Armonk, N.Y., is voluntarily recalling about 220,000 AC adapters that are used with certain models of IBM notebook computers and other mobile devices. These AC adapters can overheat, posing a fire hazard. IBM has received nine reports of the AC adapters overheating, including one report of fire causing minor damage. There have been no reports of injuries. The recall includes AC adapters used only with IBM ThinkPad 310 (type 2600 only) and IBM ThinkPad i Series (type 2611 only) notebook computers, and IBM WorkPad z50 (type 2608 only) companion devices. The AC adapter is a small rectangular black plastic box that, on one end, has a permanently attached wire that connects to the computer, and on the other end has a detachable cord that plugs into an AC outlet. It is approximately 2.5 inches long by 4.5 inches wide by 1.25 inches high. The label reads in part, "AC Adapter," "Made in China" and "Delta Electronics (Dougguan) Co., Ltd." It has a FRU p/n number of 12J0537, 12J0539 or 02K6562. Electronic and computer stores nationwide, and the IBM web site and other on-line retailers sold these AC adapters with mobile devices from May 1997 through November 1999. They also were sold separately for about $50. Consumers should contact IBM to receive a free replacement AC adapter. Consumers also will receive a 15 percent discount coupon for Options by IBM merchandise when the recalled AC adapter is returned. Because of the high-pressure contents of these fire extinguishers, they can explode and expose consumers to flying debris, causing puncture wounds and blast injuries. CPSC and the firm have received five reports of the fire extinguisher exploding in consumers' homes. One consumer was hit by flying debris, but was not injured. The explosions have resulted in property damage. The fire extinguisher is yellow with a black top and a red spout. "FIRESTOPPER" is written on the side of the extinguisher in orange. The "I" in the name is written to resemble a flame. Other writing on the unit includes "ENVIRONMENTALLY SAFE," "NON-TOXIC," "The Portable Liquid Fire Extinguisher," and "MADE IN THE USA." The extinguisher is about 10 inches high and the net weight is 12 ounces. The product was originally marketed by Bombay Productions Inc. in California. Dollar-type discount stores, including Only Deals and Bargain Wholesale, and wholesalers sold these fire extinguishers nationwide from January 1999 through February 2000 for between $.99 and $4. Consumers should discharge these fire extinguishers into a plastic garbage bag or similar container outside, in an open area. Consumers can return the discharged units to the store where purchased for a refund. Announce Recall of Windshield Washer Fluid WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Filter Tech Inc., of Huntington, W.V., is recalling about 335,000 bottles of Aqua Mist windshield washer fluid. The bottles, which contain methyl alcohol, are not sealed with child-resistant closures as required by federal law. Methyl alcohol, also known as methanol, is toxic and can cause blindness or death if ingested. CPSC and Filter Tech are not aware of any injuries involving this product. This recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. This recall involves 1 gallon bottles of Aqua Mist Windshield Washer Fluid with twist-off caps. The bottle's label reads in part, "Aqua Mist Windshield Washer Fluid Protects to -25° F...Manufactured by Filter Tech, Inc. Huntington, WV." The label's UPC number is "6 96632 00001 5." Speedway Superamerica stores and other automotive stores in Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia sold the windshield washer fluid from October 1999 through April 2000 for about $1.50. Consumers immediately should return the bottles to the store where purchased for their choice of a full refund, exchange or child-resistant cap. Candle Holders - ATICO International USA Inc., of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., is recalling about 14,000 lighthouse-shaped candle holders. They are made of wood (painted white or natural) with a glass and metal top.
Baby Hammocks - Hangouts, of Boulder Colo., is recalling about 350 baby hammocks. The "baby hammocks" are 6-foot-long mini-hammocks. They are woven from thin cotton strings with nylon end strings in solid or multi-striped colors.
Wooden Stacking Toys - Jack Rabbit Creations Inc., of Atlanta, Ga., is recalling about 9,000 hand-painted, wooden stacking toys called Stacking King. These stacking toys have seven interlocking multi- colored, doughnut-shaped pieces mounted on pegs.

Ltd., of Taiwan, is recalling about 13,500 Ballistic front suspension forks installed on certain Brunswick mountain bicycles. The forks on these bicycles can break apart, causing riders to lose control and fall. By Us and Brunswick have received 18 reports of forks on these bicycles breaking resulting in nine riders, including teenagers, suffering serious head and bodily injuries, abrasions, bruises and chipped teeth. The recalled forks were installed on Mongoose S-20 and MGX S-20 bicycles, which are orange, and the Roadmaster Ridge Rider bicycles, which is red. The forks on these bikes are black with decals that read "BALLISTIC" and "105" on the sides of the suspension fork legs. A serial number is located on the inside of the suspension fork legs. The recall only includes forks with the following serial numbers: BA10044001 through BA10049000 BA10050001 through BA10051000 BAX0001251 through BAX0006750 BAX0006781 through BAX0007080 98022087 through 98027843 Discount department and toy stores nationwide sold these bicycles from September 1998 through May 2000 for between $125 and $150. Announce Recall of Bicycle Components WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Answer Products Inc., of Valencia, Calif., is voluntarily recalling about 17,500 BMX and mountain bicycle forks, which were sold separately and installed on bicycles. The tube that attaches the fork to the bicycle can fail, causing riders to lose control and fall. Answer Products has received six reports of these forks failing resulting in two consumers suffering minor injuries, including cuts, bruises and chipped teeth. These 2000 model bicycle forks have been installed on more than 30 models of bicycles and sold under Answer and Manitou brand names. Either "ANSWER" or "MANITOU" is written on the side of the fork and the model name is written on the front of the fork. The Answer BMX forks are the Carbo Pro and Mag Pro models. The Manitou mountain bike forks are Mars and X-Vert Super models. Bicycle brands that were made with these forks include Specialized, Klein, Jamis and Marin. Bicycle stores nationwide and mail order catalogs sold these forks and bikes from August 1999 through May 2000. The forks range in price from $245 to $695, and the assembled bicycles with these forks range in price from $1,200 to more than $3,000. Consumers should immediately stop riding the bicycles with these forks and take them to an authorized Answer Products dealer for a free inspection and repair. Announce Recall of Weed Trimmer Heads With Metal Chains WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Weed Wizard Acquisition Corp., of Bradley, Mich., voluntarily recalled about 2.7 million Weed Wizard trimmer heads with metal chains and about 857,000 trimmer replacement chain sets. The end link of the trimmer's metal chain can rapidly and unexpectedly detach during use, propelling the link into the air at a high velocity. If the metal link strikes the user or a bystander, it can penetrate skin and bone, causing injury or death. Weed Wizard and CPSC have received 47 reports of metal links detaching from trimmers, resulting in 41injuries, including the death of a 3-year-old girl in Alabama who was struck in the head by a metal link. The injuries included users and bystanders being struck by metal links in the head, neck, legs, ankles and feet, resulting in penetration wounds and lacerations. The Weed Wizard being recalled replaces the string trimmer head with a metal chain trimmer head on a gas-powered weed trimmer. Only Weed Wizard trimmer heads with metal chains are part of this recall. They were sold with white replacement heads and black chains, yellow heads with black chains or yellow heads with silver chains. There is no writing on the Weed Wizard trimmer heads, but the packaging reads "Weed Wizard", "The Solution to Trimmer Line Problems", "Fits 99% of All Gas Trimmers" and "MADE IN U.S.A." Home centers, mass merchants, discount stores, hardware stores and television advertisements nationwide sold Weed Wizards with metal chains from May 1987 through April 2000 for between $19 and $25. The replacement chain kits were sold from January 1992 through April 2000 for about $8. Consumers should stop using the Weed Wizards with metal chains immediately and discard or destroy the product. The stroller's front wheel connector can crack during use, causing the wheel to separate from the frame. A jogger could lose control of the stroller or the stroller could suddenly collapse resulting in injury to a child.
