Star ME-1 Dry Fire Sprinklers - Installation Defect (2003)

SCM's Star ME-1 sprinklers have the following information molded onto the sprinkler: the name "Star," the designation "ME-1," and the year of manufacture starting with 1983 and ending with 1995. These sprinklers were typically installed in areas of buildings where the sprinklers or water supply pipes may be subject to freezing. Examples of such areas include unheated attics, freezers and coolers, porches and parking garages. The types of facilities in which the sprinklers were installed include nursing homes, convalescent and long-term care facilities, supermarkets and other stores, warehouses, hospitals, and office buildings.

Choking Hazard

Fiddlesticks are wooden rhythm instruments designed for use in the Kindermusik classroom and at home. The recalled instrument is 7" long, 1" in diameter, and is made of wood. It is hollowed out in the middle. Steel balls are inserted into the middle of the instrument to create a shaker sound and the ends are capped with wooden plugs. They are primarily sold as part of a music instructional kit.

The recall involves 7 1/4-inch circular saws with model numbers C7SB2 or C7BD2 and serial numbers that begin with C62, C72, C82, C92, C02 or CN2. The model number is located on the green nameplate on the motor housing below the name "Hitachi." The serial number is stamped at the lower right of the nameplate. The saw's housing is green and the name "Hitachi" also is written on the metal blade guard.

Craftsman Electric Router – operational risk (2003)

This recall involves Craftsman® routers, model number 315.17510 with date codes of A0304 or lower. The model numbers and date codes are printed on a black data label located on the electric motor's housing. The routers have an aluminum base with black handles and a black motor. All affected routers were packaged with a cloth carry bag under the stock number 17518. Routers sold without the bag are not involved in the recall.

The book set titles are "MONSTERS TO GO!," "DISNEY PRINCESS - DISNEY THE PRINCESS COLLECTION 2," "DISNEY'S WINNIE THE POOH - A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS," and "BARBIE - MY BARBIE FUN BOX." Each book set contains four board books inside. Only book sets with plastic snaps are included in the recall. Book sets with metal snaps are not part of the recall.

The recalled sparklers are packaged in a multicolored cardboard box and sold with six sparklers per box. The sparklers measure about 7 inches long. Labels on the packaging read in part "Bamboo Stick Color Sparklers," "6 PIECES," and "MADE IN CHINA." Only bamboo sparklers with "LB-N011-7" printed on the packaging are included in the recall.

Fun Buckets (Playnation) – Playground Accessory Problem (2003)

This recall involves "Fun Buckets" sold as an add-on option for backyard play sets. The 14-inch-deep buckets are either yellow or green vinyl and have a black nylon strap attached to the rope. The "Fun Bucket" was sold with a heavy wood bracket to attach it to the roof of a play set fort.
